{"id":961,"date":"2012-07-19T01:57:03","date_gmt":"2012-07-19T01:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lapointes.ca\/blog\/?p=961"},"modified":"2012-07-20T01:57:47","modified_gmt":"2012-07-20T01:57:47","slug":"day-8-cornwall-on-ste-anne-de-bellevueqc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.lapointes.ca\/blog\/day-8-cornwall-on-ste-anne-de-bellevueqc\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 8 &#8211; Cornwall, ON &#8211; Ste Anne de Bellevue,QC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting the day out this morning we find out that Guy La Fleur has his boat just down the slips in the marina. \u00a0So we took some pics of his 65 ft&#8217;er. \u00a0Conner, we took a picture just for you! \u00a0 A lot of French Canadians are here too. \u00a0We just can&#8217;t understand them.<\/p>\n<p>Since we got our diesel last evening we didn&#8217;t have to worry about that today. \u00a0Good thing cause we slept in till almost 8:00. \u00a0Finally we were underway around 10:00 \u00a0on a great weather day. \u00a0It was in the low &#8217;70&#8217;s when we started out and no humidity was a blessing.<\/p>\n<p>Our last day on the St. Lawrence River and it was a great one. \u00a0We\u00a0passed through two more Seaway locks and with no wind it was amazingly simple. \u00a0 Both are in Beauharnois Canal located just west of Montreal. \u00a0As we saw Montreal in the distance we started on a northern route toward the Ottawa River. \u00a0it was literally a zigzag across a large lake with so many varying depths ranging from shoals to 35 ft deep. \u00a0The channel was well marked however there were some passages that a couple boats passing one another just made it through. \u00a0Finally we settle in at Ste Anne de Bellevue and pass through the first of two locks on the \u00a0Ottawa River. \u00a0We are now settled in on the north side of the lock here in Ste Anne de Bellevue for tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Heading for a long day to Ottawa tomorrow.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Starting the day out this morning we find out that Guy La Fleur has his boat just down the slips in the marina. \u00a0So we took some pics of his 65 ft&#8217;er. \u00a0Conner, we took a picture just for you! \u00a0 A lot of French Canadians are here too. \u00a0We just can&#8217;t understand them.
